We all know that we're in a spiritual war.
Always. Constantly. It doesn't stop.
A lot of it comes down to battles though;
(thank God, He never lets us face
more than we can handle at a time!)
and this morning I started thinking about a cycle I see almost daily..
When someone finally hits rock bottom; they've come to that point of "I'm done with this! I'm sick of all you're (satan) putting me through and I'm not going to take it anymore!" They find that strength to get up, that determination to keep going.. that fight.
But then as they are
pounding out the devil with their weapons (Ephesians 6:10-17)
he calls out "Stop! Just stop..I'll leave.. you win."
And they let up.
They go to camp and they start getting comfortable;
slowly they let down their guards and the armor comes off as they settle
in a chair and fall asleep.
Is it that surprising then when satan returns and bash them around until they're at rock bottom again and this cycle is repeated? Each time he weakens them just a little more, until finally this person decides its just not worth it anymore to even try fighting..
What's the difference between them and the people who are in the same fight, only winning? Well, I can tell you one thing those people who are winning the battles aren't doing.. they aren't walking off and getting comfy.
When satan's on the ground saying "Enough! you win.."
we must point God's TRUTH on his LIES and say,
"I know you're coming back and that you won't let up..and I'll be waiting."
And then we wait.
Does the Bible ever tell us to take off our armor?
NO.
What about resting and being comfortable?
Yeah, um, the Bible warns us against falling asleep!
Realize that the devil SEEKS to DESTROY and just looks for people to beat down on and suck the life out of.
You think the people who are lost in their sins of lust, partying, lies and so forth are the ones satan's concerned with? HA. No. Have they not sort of taken care of themselves? He's got them where they need to be.
Satan wants the ones fighting against him; he craves the ones who are seeking God with their whole hearts.. because he knows we're gonna be a key part of the complete fall of his kingdom!
If you feel like satan's beating down on you especially hard...laugh and keep running towards our Abba, keep fighting, because you are NOT right where the devil wants you.
Hallelujah!
